Day 7 Leh / Hemis / Leh
After breakfast drive 30 miles southeast of Leh to Hemis gompa to visit the Hemis Festival. This festival is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Guru Padmasambhava who is believed to have fought local demons to protect the people. Young and old people along with the Lamas take part in the masked dance-drama during this festival.

Day 8 Leh / Hemis / Leh
Today revisit Hemis to enjoy the festival. Situated on the west bank of the River Indus Hemis monastery is built on a green hillside and is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. After sightseeing of Hemis continue on to Thikse gompa – Ladakh’s most photographed and architecturally impressive monastery. Return to Leh in the afternoon en route visiting Shey Palace and monastery, gold victory Stupa and a spectacular double storied statue of Buddha. Shey was the royal residence until 16th century and is situated on the east bank of river Indus.

Day 9 Leh / Nubra Valley
Today drive 85 miles north of Leh to Nubra valley. The journey to Nubra valley passes through KhardungLa the highest vehicular road in the world at 18380 ft. After crossing the pass one can have a view of Khardong village, Khalser and Deskit, the main villages of Nubra valley. Nubra Valley was first opened to outside world in 1994 and remains a restricted area. Arrive Nubra and check-in to the guesthouse.

Day 10 Nubra Valley
The Nubra Valley means Ldumra, the valley of flowers. The relatively gentler climate here allows crops, fruits and nuts to grow. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above the sea level. The main attraction of the valley is the shaggy double hump Bactarian Camels found around sand dunes. Today visit Deskit and Samstanling monasteries, and the sand dunes. There is a possibility to enjoy a camel safari in the sand dunes of Nubra valley.

Day 11 Nubra Valley / Leh
Today return to Leh and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 12 Leh / Srinagar (Kashmir)
Transfer to the airport in time for Indian flight IC 448 Leh / Srinagar (0840/0925). Nestling in the lap of the dazzling snow-capped Himalayas, the Kashmir valley is a jewel in India’s crown. An inspiration for so much art, music and poetry, Srinagar is the mile high summer capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Mughal Emperors described Kashmir as a garden of eternal spring, a delightful flower bed and a paradise on earth. Srinagar is unique because of its lakes – the Dal, Nagin and Anchar. The river Jhelum also flows through a part of the city. This afternoon enjoy a soothing and most relaxing cruise on Dal Lake by Shikhara boats visiting the floating gardens, vegetable markets and later for tea on a houseboat.
