Day 1 arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi by international flight. After clearing immigration and customs formalities you are met by a representative from First Tours and transferred to the hotel.

Day 2 Delhi / Leh (Ladakh)
Transfer to the airport in time for flight 9W 1609 Delhi / Leh (0630/0745). Leh in the province of Ladakh is in the eastern corner of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir. Situated at an elevation of 12,800 feet Leh is India’s most sparsely populated region; a high altitude desert cradled by the Karakoram and the Great Himalayan ranges. Rest of the day is at leisure for acclimatization.

Day 3 Leh
Today visit Leh Palace and the museum, the Shanti Stupa, Namgyal Tesmo gompa and Sankar gompa. In the evening explore the colorful markets of Leh. In the evening explore the colorful markets of Leh.

Day 4 Leh / Alchi
After breakfast drive 45 miles to Alchi. En route visit the 16th century Mahakal temple and the 11th century Spituk gompa at Spituk. This gompa is situated on a conical hill and provides excellent views of the countryside around. Also visit the monastery at Phyang and Basgo village. Basgo village has the ruins of a Buddhist citadel impressively sited on a spur overlooking the Indus Valley. It served as a royal residence for several periods between the 15th and 17th century. Arrive Alchi and check-in to Alchi guesthouse.

Day 5 Alchi / Lamayuru / Alchi
Today drive 35 miles to Lamayuru to see the magnificent monastery and the landscape known as Moon Land. The monastery located on a crag overlooking the Indus River is considered to be the oldest in the region. This monastery was founded in the 11th century and belongs to the Tibetan Kagyupa sect. Return to Alchi in the late afternoon.

Day 6 Alchi / Likir / Leh
In the morning visit Alchi that has an extraordinary wealth of ancient wall paintings and wood sculpture preserved for over nine centuries inside five tiny mud-walled temples. Sightseeing includes visit to the Alchi Chos-Khor or "religious enclave" that consists of five separate temples. This temple complex of Alchi is regarded as one of the most important Buddhist centres in Ladakh and a jewel of monastic skill. After lunch return to Leh. En route visit the Buddhist monasteries and temples at Likir. Likir Monastery was built during the reign of Lachen Gyalpo who also installed 600 monks here. The gompa was endowed with a rich collection of fine images, thankas and murals.
