Day 8 Delhi / Bagdogra / Darjeeling
Transfer to the airport in time for Jet Airways flight 9W 602 Delhi / Bagdogra (1010/1215). Arrive Bagdogra and drive to Darjeeling, a distance of 70 miles in about 3 ½ hours. Arrive Darjeeling and check-in to the most celebrated of Darjeeling's hotels, The Windamere.

Day 9 Darjeeling
Early morning enjoy an excursion to Tiger Hill, perhaps the one really unmissable part of the Darjeeling experience, to watch the sunrise. Return via Ghoom Monastery built by Sharap Gyatso in 1850. After breakfast visit Happy Valley Tea Estate, Tibetan self-help Center, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Everest Museum and the Darjeeling Zoo – famous for precious snow leopards. Afternoon explore the heart of Victorian Darjeeling, the Mall and the prestigious Planters' Club.

Day 10 Darjeeling / Gangtok
After breakfast drive to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. Situated on a hill, the streets of Gangtok are lined with brightly painted pagoda roofed houses. Sikkim was an independent state with deep cultural ties to its northern neighbour Tibet until 1975, when its people voted for a merger with India. Arrive Gangtok and check-in to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the beautiful surroundings.

Day 11 Gangtok
Enjoy an excursion to Rumtek Monastery, headquarters of the Kagyupa, "Red Hat" sect of Tibetan Lamaistic Buddhism. In the afternoon visit the Government Institute of Cottage Industries, where cotton and woolen textiles, embroidery, ceramics, painted scrolls and other traditional crafts are demonstrated. Also visit the Research Institute of Tibetology, with the largest library of Tibetan books, Deer Park and the Orchid Sanctuary.

Day 12 Gangtok / Phuntsholing
After breakfast drive through lush green tea gardens and scattered villages to Phuntsholing, the frontier town of Bhutan and a thriving commercial center. In the afternoon visit Zangtho Pelri, a small temple built in the center of the city that represents the heaven of Guru Rimpoche who brought Buddhism into Bhutan. Evening visit the fascinating markets of Phuntsholing.

Day 13 Phuntsholing / Thimphu
Early morning drive 110 miles in 6 hours to Thimphu, the capital town of Bhutan. En route visit Kharbandi Goemba. Situated at an altitude of 1,300 ft. and surrounded by gardens of tropical plants and flowers this beautiful monastery was built by Royal Grandmother in 1967. Arrive Thimphu and check-in to Amankora.

Day 14 Thimphu
In the morning visit Memorial Chorten - the stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s 3rd King. The paintings and statues inside provide a deep insight into Buddhist philosophy. Also visit Tashichhodzong fortress monastery that houses the secretariat, the King’s throne room and government offices. In the afternoon visit the Textile and Folk Heritage Museum, both of which opened in 2001, provide fascinating insights into Bhutanese material culture and way of life. Also visit the Handicrafts Emporium. This government-run enterprise displays a wide range of beautifully hand-woven textiles and craft products.
