| Day 1 arrive Delhi |
| Arrive Delhi by international flight. After clearing immigration and customs formalities you are met by a representative from First Tours and transferred to the Oberoi, a luxury hotel centrally located overlooking the prestigious 18-hole Delhi Golf Club. (The Oberoi) |
| Day 2 Delhi |
This morning enjoy a visit to Old Delhi, the 17th century capital city of Mughal Empire. Sightseeing includes visit to the Red Fort, Chandni Chowk and India's largest mosque Jami Masjid. Return to the hotel for lunch en route visiting Gandhi Memorial at Raj Ghat. In the afternoon visit some of the most grandiose of British constructions built between 1921 & 1929, Humayun's Tomb and the 1199 Qutb Minar.(The Oberoi) |
| Day 3 Delhi |
| Today visit the National Museum, providing the best general overview of Indian culture and history, packed with exhibits ranging over five thousand years. Later visit the Crafts Museum exhibition of rural arts and crafts of India. Exhibits include folk art, pottery, paintings, woodcarving and an assortment of traditions that provide a unique insight into rural life of India. (The Oberoi) |
| Day 4 Delhi / Gwalior |
| Early morning embark on air-conditioned express train 2002 Bhopal Shatabdi Express Delhi / Gwalior (0600/0930). Arrive Gwalior and transfer to the Usha Kiran Palace, the ancestral home of the Scindia family. Set amidst 9 acres of beautifully landscaped lawns, this regal palace is outfitted with artistic stone carvings and delicate filigree work. Morning is available to explore the palace. In the afternoon sightseeing of Gwalior visit the palaces and temples located in the spectacular hilltop fort. In the evening enjoy the son et lumiere show in the fort. (Usha Kiran Palace) |
| Day 5 Gwalior / Agra |
In the morning visit Jai Vilas Palace and the Scindia Museum that has an idiosyncratic collection of royal possessions and memorabilia, a pair of the world’s heaviest chandeliers and the famous battery operated silver train meant to transport cigars, dry-fruit and drinks on the dining table. Rest of the day is at leisure until transfer to the railway station in time for air-conditioned express train 2001 Bhopal Shatabdi Express Gwalior / Agra (1905/2035). Arrive Agra and transfer to the Oberoi Amarvilas, a resort located just 500 meters from the world famous monument of love - the Taj Mahal. | Day 6 Agra |
| Early morning you may wish to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise. After breakfast
visit Agra Fort situated on the banks of river Yamuna. This imposing structure
of palaces, mosques and audience halls contained within its massive walls
was founded by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565. Late afternoon visit the
Taj Mahal at sunset when the monument appears to change its hue, tinted
by the glow of the setting sun. In the memory of his wife, the great Mughal
emperor Shah Jahan built this most extravagant and incomparable monument
