| Day 19 Bhopal / Bombay / Aurangabad |
| Transfer to the airport in time for Indian flight IC 7133 Bhopal / Bombay (0850/1015). On arrival in Bombay you are met by your guide and proceed for the sightseeing of Kanheri Caves. The Buddhist caves of Kanheri, carved between 2nd and 9th century AD, were used as accommodations for the Buddhist monks during the four months of monsoon. Return to the airport, after sightseeing, in time for Indian flight IC 887 Bombay / Aurangabad (1555/1640). Arrive Aurangabad and transfer to the hotel. (Taj Residency) |

Early morning drive through scenic countryside to Waghora Valley, the hideout of the spectacular 2nd century BC Ajanta caves. See the exquisite and immaculately preserved paintings, phalanxes of stone Buddha and sculpture. Bodhisattva Padmapani, Boddhisattva Avalokitesvara, the Birth of the Buddha and the thousand Buddhas are a few amongst the many fine murals and sculptures you will cherish. | Start the sightseeing today visiting the Ellora Caves, the sites principal attraction, the Kailash temple - world's largest monolith, this vast lump of solid basalt is fashioned into a spectacular agglomeration of interconnecting colonnaded halls, galleries and sacred shrines. Late afternoon transfer to the airport in time for Indian flight IC 888 Aurangabad / Bombay (1720/1805). | Early morning drive 70 miles to Karla to visit the 2nd and 1st century BC the rock-cut Buddhist Chaitya Hall. This is the largest and best preserved cave in India. Here the stone mason imitated the earlier wooden structures. In the afternoon visit Jehangir Art Gallery and the Prince of Wales Museum, Victoria Terminus, Hanging Gardens, Jain Temple and Mani Bhavan – Gandhi's Bombay base between 1917 & 1934, this house is now a permanent memorial to the Mahatma.
